Have a Great Christmas Break

by Coy Holcombe.

Today is another early release day for the district. Buses will run at 1:30. Today also marks the end of the 3rd six weeks and the end of the first semester. We will be on Christmas break through the first of January. Staff members will report back on January 4 for a workday. Students will come back on Tuesday, January 5.

I want to thank all the staff members, students, and parents for a great first semester. Although the first semester seemed to fly by, the second semester, with all the different activities taking place, will go even faster.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Art Programs in EISD

by Coy Holcombe.

EISD is fortunate to have some very talented individuals teaching art to our students. Our art program starts at the elementary grades and continues all the way through high school. The instructors for the art program are as follows: Primary – Susanne Pharmakis; Intermediate – Judy Wakefield; Middle School – Cheri Spivey; High School – Ron Brewer. These individuals do a fantastic job with our students.

All the campuses have student art on display. The next time you are visiting a campus, I encourage you to take a few minutes to examine the art work that our students are producing. Most of the campuses have their art displayed in the hallways. At the High School, our art students have their work displayed in the "pit" area. As you look at this art work, I think you will agree that we have some very talented students in EISD!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.
