by Coy Holcombe.

I hope everyone had a great break! 2010 is here! The staff of EISD will be having a workday today. Students will report at regular times tomorrow.

Just prior to the break, EISD received notification from the State Comptrollers Office that we had been awarded a Gold Level award for level of transparency in the district’s website with regarding to finances of the district. Below is a copy of the email received from the Comptroller’s office:

Dr. Coy Holcombe

Eustace ISD

Dear Dr. Holcombe,

Our Local Government Assistance staff has reviewed Eustace ISD’s application for a Leadership Circle Award.  As your regional representative, I am excited to recognize your score of thirteen points out of fifteen points possible in the ratings criteria to earn a Gold level award.

We will have a Leadership Circle Award certificate, dated 12/18/2009, printed for Comptroller Susan Combs’ signature.  This will be mailed to you within the next ten working days. A Gold insignia will be placed on your listing of our “Transparency Check Up” Website.  You will also receive a digital “Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle” seal that you may use on your own Website.

The Leadership Circle Award designation is valid for one year from the date on the certificate.  At the end of this year, you are welcome to resubmit an application to re-qualify for another Leadership Circle Award.

Congratulations on your success in implementing financial transparency and joining our Leadership Circle.
