As you know, there are so many things that are dependent on the enrollment in EISD. Everything from state funding to our classification in UIL activities is dependent on our enrollment and attendance. Last year, we struggled to meet our projected attendance numbers because of a decrease in our enrollment. Over the past several years, we had projected a slight increase in our enrollment from year to year. Until a couple of years ago, this increase had been realized. The last two years have been different. We have not shown any growth in our enrollment.
While we have always carefully monitored our enrollment and attendance, given the situation over the past two years, this monitoring has become even more important. Currently, our enrollment is as follows:
High School – 438
Middle School – 326
Intermediate – 331
Primary – 379
Total Enrollment – 1,474
While still down from previous years, this enrollment is enough to earn the funds budgeted for the 10-11 school year. We will continue to bring updates on our enrollment throughout the school year. At the end of each six weeks, we will have a detailed analysis of our attendance and the impact that it has on our funding.
