The boys cross country team finished 2nd at the UIL Regional Cross Country Meet on Saturday and qualified to run at the State Cross Country Meet. The state meet will be held this Saturday, November 13 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The girls cross country team finished 15th at the Regional Meet. Congratulations to all those that participated at the Regional Meet. Below are the results from Coach Josh Sypert:
The Girl’s team faced some very challenging teams but finished 15th out of 22 and 167 individuals. The girls were lead by sophomore Shelby Milton who placed 42nd and ran a personal record of 13:25, she was followed by Tarrah Herrera who placed 62nd and ran a 13:45, Nancy Murff placed 79th and ran a 13:55, Kara Zimmerer placed 108th and ran a 14:29, Crystal Garza placed 118th and ran a 14:41, Skylar Burks placed 138th and ran a 15:11, and Shelby Stegent placed 155th and ran a 16:22.
The Boy’s team finished 2nd out of 22 teams and 165 individual qualifying them for the State Championships on November 13, 2010 in Round Rock, TX. The boys were lead by sophomore Evan Arambula who placed 12th overall with a time of 16:35, he was followed by teammates Michael Yates and Caleb Caldwell who placed 15th and 17th and ran 17:00 and 17:02, Ben Huddleston placed 30th and ran a 17:32, Gavin Kirkhart placed 39th and ran a 17:50, Trey Russell placed 49th and ran a 18:12, and Shawn Boulware placed 104th and ran a 19:32.
On Friday, the Bulldog football team lost a hard fought game against Dallas Life Oak. However, because of the tie-breaking system, the Bulldogs will still advance to the state playoffs. The Bulldogs will play Pottsboro on Thursday, November 11, at Lake Highland High School. The game will start at 7:30.
