FFA Starts Strong

Thanks to Zach Tappan and Theresa Tindel for providing the update below on FFA activities:

The Eustace FFA Chapter competed well at the East Texas
Fair.  Chad Tindel earned the Grand Champion title for his
Charolais heifer.  Brady Tindel received Reserve Champion Senior
Showmanship
honors as well as having a Class winner with
his Brahman heifer.  Samantha Crocker placed fourth with her
Brahman heifer and Lane Smith rounded out the heifer show with a fifth
and sixth placing of his Brahman heifers.  The Plant ID team
competed against 18 teams and earned a fifth place plaque.
The team consisted of Team A: Dillon Gragsone, Chad Tindel, Bradley Holmes, and
Cody Penwarden.  Team B consisted of Racheal Hall , Ashley Lasiter,
Breanna Fuller, and Karen Cawthon.  The Plant ID Teams had just competed
at their Sandyland District FFA Competition and placed fourth earlier in
the week.

The Steer Show was just as successful for the Show Team with
Brady Tindel earning a first place Chianina Steer and third
place AOB steer.  Lane Smith received first place with his
light weight AOB steer and Chad Tindel placed second with his
light weight Charolais steer.

The Chapter is scheduled to compete at the State Fair of
Texas beginning October 3, 2011 with the Prospect Steer Show and then again on
the 7th and 17th  through the 20th for
the Junior Heifer Shows.

Thank you all for your continued support of our program!!!
