Concert, All-Region Band, EASA, and Christmas on the Square

Our bands put on a great Christmas concert last night!! I want to thank all the band members for their hard work in getting ready for the concert. A special thank you goes out to our band directors, Todd Felty and Jim Taylor. Also, I want to thank all the parents and friends that attended the concert last night. Your support is greatly appreciated. Videos of each band’s performance will be posted on the EISD YouTube page http://www.youtube.com/user/EustaceISD.

We had two members of our High School band earn All-Region honors:

Congratulations to Kailyn Morton and Ella Agold for achieving a position in the Association of Texas Small Schools All Region Band in Region 3. Ella is 4th Chair in the Concert Band and Kailyn is 1st Chair in the Symphonic Band.

This also qualifies for Kailyn for the Area Band Audition for All State Band in January. The All State Band performs in February at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio. These girls along with the other students who auditioned from Eustace put in many hours of practice on their own to accomplish this difficult goal. Great job!

Special thanks to Mr. Felty for supplying this information.

I have received information from Casey Herring, EASA football commissioner and coach, about honors that Eustace players have received:

This past weekend the K-2 midget Bulldogs, 3rd/4th Pee-Wee Bulldogs  and the 5th/6th Little League team had 7 representatives from Eustace per team  for the Tri County Football Associations All Star game.  These were picked by coaches  and towns from around the league.

For Midgets (K-2) they were:  Ismael Maltos, Justin Crow, Ryan McKee, Jordan Herring, Brady Griffin, Jaden Hammonds and Cason Long.

For Pee-Wee (3rd/4th) they were:  Jacob Kile, Makiah James, Colby Carpenter, Clay Carpenter, Paxton Schwartz, Davon Mathis and Cooper Walker.

For Little League (5th/6th) they were:  Alejandro Sanchez, Noah Herring, Marcus Staggs, Jeremy Smitherman, Justin Perez, Kelly Ashton and Zack Compton.

Congratulations to these players, their coaches, and their parents on these honors!

Christmas on the Square will take place this Saturday, December 10. The parade will start at 5:30 and Christmas on the Square will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
