The 7th and 8th grade football teams posted wins over Lone Oak last night. The JV football team lost a hard fought game against Lone Oak. All three teams had successful seasons this year. Special thanks to the coaches and players for all their hard work and dedication put into making this a successful season. A special thanks to all the parents and fans that supported the MS and JV football teams this year.
Tonight, the Bulldogs host Lone Oak in the final district football game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7:30. The outcome of tonight’s game will, in large part, determine whether the Bulldogs get to extend their season in the playoffs. With a win, the Bulldogs will secure a playoff spot. I encourage everyone to come out and support the Bulldogs tonight and wear your PURPLE!!
The state qualifiers in cross country had a big send off this morning. Each of the campuses had a special mini pep rally for the runners. A video of the High School send off is now posted on the EISD YouTube page. The state cross country meet is tomorrow in Round Rock. Michelle Gomez, EHS 9th grader, qualified for state on the girls side by finishing 6th at the regional meet last Saturday. The entire boys team qualified by finishing first at the regional meet. The girls race starts at 10:50 and the boys race starts at 11:10. The races will be held at Old Settlers’ Park in Round Rock. Parking at the event is $5 and admission to the state cross country meet is $5. I know that it is a long drive to Round Rock, but, if possible, I encourage everyone to come out and show your support for these runners. The following link will take you to the UIL page that provides more information about the state meet: http://www.uiltexas.org/cross-country/state .
Although it does not seem possible, today is the end of the 2nd 6 weeks. We only have one more six weeks in this first semester. With the Thanksgiving Holidays coming up, this 6 weeks will also go by fast. Report cards will go out next Thursday.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
