Accountability Ratings

Yesterday, TEA released the accountability ratings to school districts. Today, those ratings will be released to the public. Attached to this entry is a copy of the rating reports for the district as well as each campus. These ratings reports are radically different from what we have seen in the past. All of the information for the district and for the campuses are condensed to a one page report.

The district and campuses are now rated on four indices: Student Achievement, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness. For each index, the district and campus received a percentage score based on the total possible points and the points earned by the district or the campus. TEA has established a minimum performance standard for each index.

In the report for the district and campuses, it is stated whether the index was met. A graph is also included that compares the district or campus with the minimum score required by the state. On the campus report, demographic information about the specific campus is included. At the bottom of the reports, information is provided about how the scores were derived and a summary of the indicators that were met.

The campus reports also designate if the campuses received “Distinctions.” Campuses can receive distinctions in Reading/ELA, Mathematics, and in Top 25 Percent Student Progress.

Overall, the district and all the campuses met the standards established by the state. Each campus also received at least one distinction. Please take a few minutes to look over the reports below.
