I hope everyone had a great spring break! With the week before spring break being somewhat chaotic, the next few days will provide an opportunity to catch up on some really important developments. We will spend some time discussing one of the items approved at the March board meeting in particular.
Congratulations to Sunni Goodell on placing 8th at the state power lifting meet!!
I want to congratulate all of the participants in the Intermediate Wax Museum that took place on Friday, March 7. All of the participants did a great job in researching their important person and then dressing up as that person. Yesterday, Eustace High School hosted the annual Masonic Luncheon in the High School library. During the luncheon the local Masonic Lodge honored two Eustace High School seniors: Chelsea Oliver and Ridge Smith. Both students were presented with a certificate and a Mirabeau B. Lamar Medal. In addition, both students received a $500 scholarship from the Masons.
Beth Williamson, a special needs teacher at the High School, was the faculty member honored this year by the Masons.
The Masons in attendance yesterday were Keith Haynes and Greg Swain. On behalf of Eustace ISD, I would like to thank Mr. Haynes, Mr. Swain, and all of the area Masons for making these awards and scholarships available to our students. Below are some pictures of the ceremony.
It’s not very often that we have to worry about winter weather when we get into March. Usually, the greatest threat of winter weather occurs from December to February. Since we missed Monday and Tuesday, we will have to utilize the bad weather days that are built into our calendar. The first bad weather day will be April 18. This was originally a holiday, but will become a class day. The second bad weather day will be at the end of the year on June 5. This will become the last day of the 2013-2014 school year.
