This Week

This week is Red Ribbon Week. There will be various activities at the campuses throughout the week.

The volleyball team had their final regular home game of the season this past Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs lost a hard fought match to state ranked Arp 3-1. The senior players on the volleyball team were recognized after the game. A video of the recognition is posted to the Eustace ISD YouTube page. A picture of the three senior players is attached at the end of this post. After Tuesday’s game against Rice, we will have further information about a warm-up game and the site and opponent for the bi-district playoff game.

A special thank you to all of those who made this year’s Pumpkin Patch so successful. I know that our staff members and parents worked very hard to make this a fun and enjoyable night for our students and their families. I would also like to thank all of the families that came out and supported Pumpkin Patch this year. We certainly could not make this successful without your participation.

The varsity football team lost a tough district game to Westwood last Friday. The Bulldogs will host Teague this Friday night. It will be Senior Night for our football, cross country, volleyball, student trainers, and band members. Students will be recognized prior to the start of the football game.

Congratulations to the Middle School volleyball teams on the great year that they had! The 7th grade placed second in the district tournament this past Saturday. The 8th grade was tournament champions and were undefeated this year in district play.

The boys and girls cross country teams travel to Humble this weekend to compete in the Regional Cross Country Meet. This is a new region for us. For years, we have gone to Arlington for the regional meet. The regional meet in Humble will present a new course and new teams to compete with.

UIL Marching Contest

The Mighty Bulldog Marching Band performed at the UIL Marching Contest in Mesquite, yesterday. The Eustace Band received a Division I from one judge and a Division II from two judges for an overall rating of Division II. There will be a video of the band’s performance posted to the District’s YouTube account later today.

The band has been working since the first of August on their marching show. They have put in many hours of work on this year’s show. I want to congratulate the band on their performance at the Marching Contest and for all the hard work they put in to prepare for this contest. A special thank you to our band directors, Todd Felty and Crystal Heidle. Also, a special thank you to the Band Boosters and all the parents and friends that have supported the band throughout this marching season.
