This Week

Congratulations to the varsity football team on their homecoming victory over Kemp. The Bulldogs won 34-7 to even their district record at 1-1. This week, the Bulldogs travel to Palestine Westwood.

Congratulations to Delaney Worth on being selected as the 2014 Homecoming Queen! The other senior nominees included Noa Taylor, Emily Morton, and Grace Holcombe.

The High School volleyball teams played at West Rusk on Saturday. All three teams came home with wins. The 9th grade and JV teams both won 2-0. The varsity team won their match 3-2. The varsity will have a key game at Frankston this Tuesday.

Today is the district cross country meet. Eustace will host the meet at the 4-Pines Ranch just south of the city limits. The varsity girls will run first at 1:30. The varsity boys will follow at 2:00. The JV girls will run at 2:30 and the JV boys will follow at 3:00. The Middle School girls will run at 3:30 and the Middle School boys at 4:00.

Wednesday the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band will be competing in the UIL Marching Contest at Mesquite. The Bulldog Band will perform at 5:15. There is an admission charge to enter.

Middle School Teacher Recognized and Homecoming

We received word that Eustace Middle School teacher and coach, Adrienne McDonald, was notified today that she has been selected as an SEC Legend by the SEC and on behalf of the University of South Carolina. This honor will be recognized at the NCAA women’s basketball tourney this year March 4-6 in Little Rock Arkansas! Congratulations to Adrienne on this great honor!!

The 7th grade football team and the JV football team both recorded wins against Kemp last night. The 7th grade won 43-6 and the JV won 22-7. The Eustace 8th grade team lost a hard fought contest against Kemp 33-14.

The varsity football team will be hosting Kemp tonight for the 2014 Homecoming Game. Kickoff is set for 7:30. Along with the football team, fans will also get to see the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band perform, and also get to see the EHS varsity cheerleaders perform. At half time, the 2014 Homecoming ceremonies will take place.

Tomorrow the EHS volleyball teams travel to West Rusk for a district contest. The first game will start at 5:00.

Also, a reminder that we will be hosting the district cross country meet this coming Monday. The varsity girls will start at 1:30 followed by the varsity boys at 2:00. Following the varsity teams, the JV teams and the Middle School teams will compete. The cross country meet will be held at 4-Pines Ranch.

October is Principals Month

Governor Rick Perry has proclaimed that October 2014 be designated as Principals Month in the State of Texas. As such, I would like to recognize all of our campus principals at this time:

A reminder that next Monday is the District Cross Country Meet. Eustace will host the meet at the 4-Pines Ranch.

Update

Report cards were sent home yesterday for all campuses.

The 7th grade football team beat Elkhart 14-8. The 8th grade football team beat Elkhart 27-8. The JV football team came up just short against Elkhart by a score of 22-16. The JV had a great comeback after falling behind 16-0 in the first quarter.

Today, High School volleyball is at Mildred in an important district contest. Varsity will play at 4:30. The JV and 9th grade teams will follow.

The varsity football team travels to Elkhart tonight for a 7:30 kickoff. This is the first district game of the season. Along with the football team, fans will be treated to the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band and the varsity cheerleaders.

Tomorrow, Eustace will be hosting the cross country meet at 4-Pines Ranch. All of the cross country teams will be running in this meet.

The Mighty Bulldog Marching Band will also be performing in the Mabank Marching Festival tomorrow.

A reminder that next week is homecoming week for Eustace.

This Week

 Congratulations to the High School volleyball teams on their victories over Rice last Friday. All the teams swept in straight games. The varsity won 3-0, the JV won 2-0, and the 9th grade won 2-0. The win puts the varsity at 4-3 for the first half of district. The second half of district play starts tonight as the Lady Bulldogs face Troup at home. The 9th grade game will start at 4:30. The JV will follow the 9th grade and the varsity will follow the JV. A special thank you to the students and staff for their great support at the Rice game.

Cross Country, Volleyball, Dig Pink, Band, and School Holiday

Congratulations to the varsity girls and varsity boys cross country teams on their victories at the Lindale meet, yesterday. Both teams placed 1st in the 4A and under division.

The High School volleyball teams face Rice in a key district game this afternoon. Today’s game marks the end of the 1st half of district play. The varsity plays at 4:30 and the JV and 9th grade will play immediately after the varsity.

There will also be a silent auction for Dig Pink at today’s volleyball game. Several different food items will be up for bid in the foyer of the Kirk Gym. Please come out and support this great cause on behalf the Lady Bulldogs.

Tomorrow the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band will be performing in the Mesquite Marching Festival. This is the first marching contest for the band this year. Later this month the Bulldog Band will also be performing in the Cedar Creek Marching Festival and at the UIL Marching Contest.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone that Monday, October 6, is a school holiday. Classes will resume at regular times on Tuesday, October 7.
