Last night the Eustace ISD School Board held a public hearing to discuss the 2013-2014 Texas Academic Performance Report. During the hearing, the Board reviewed the district and campus STAAR results, graduation rates, demographic data, financial data, violent and criminal incidents, and enrollment of EHS graduates in postsecondary institutions.
Following the public hearing, the Board met in regular session to conduct the monthly business of the school. During the regular meeting, the Board took the following actions:
- Approved the minutes or previous meetings.
- Approved the audit report as presented.
- Approved the financial reports for November as presented.
- Approved technology upgrades as presented.
- Approved Update 101 as presented.
- Accepted the resignation of Daria Melton.
- Approve substitute list as presented.
- Approved student transfers as presented.
Today and tomorrow are early release days for the district. Buses will run 2 hours early both days. School will be dismissed at the High School at 1:30 both days. Friday is a comp day for students and staff.
The Eustace ISD Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing tonight to discuss the Texas Academic Performance Report for the district and for each campus. The hearing will start at 6:45 and will be held in the High School library. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
At 7:00 PM, the Board will hold its regular monthly meeting. The regular meeting will also take place in the HS library. During the meeting, the Board will hear the following reports:
- NCLB Notice of Grant Award
- Region VII Tax Rates
- Major Projects Completed in 2013-2014
- Update on Enrollment
- Framework for School Board Development
- Instrument for Superintendent Evaluation
The Board may consider action on the following items:
- Minutes from previous meetings.
- 2014 Audit Report
- Financial Reports
- Technology Upgrades
- Update 101 – First Reading
The Board will convene in closed session to consider items related to personnel and staffing and student transfers. Any action taken on a closed session item will be made in open session.
Although this is a short week and we have two early out days, there are still lots of events and activities scheduled throughout the week.

The EISD bands presented their annual Christmas Concert last night in the High School Auditorium. The beginning band, the Middle School band, and the High School band all preformed several selections. All three bands did an outstanding job! Congratulations to the students for their hard work and preparation for this concert. A special thank you to our two band directors, Todd Felty and Crystal Heidle, for all the work they put in to making sure we have the best band program in the area. Also, a special thank you to all the family and friends that came out to support our bands last night.

Congratulations to the Eustace Middle School one act play on winning first place at yesterday’s district competition. Six different schools in our UIL academic district competed, yesterday. Below is information from Tammy Beaty, HS & MS drama teacher, on yesterday’s performance:
Eustace Middle School won 1st Place Show at the UIL One Act Play Competition yesterday with a 100% percent score. Madison Lilley took home the Best Actress Award, Jorgan Holgerson and Madelynn Bragg took home All Star Cast Awards, McKenzie Rogers won an All Star Cast Honorable Mention and Amy Green took home the Technical Achievement Award. Very, Very proud of their work! Bulldog Proud!
