The Eustace Lady Bulldogs led the district with 9 young ladies receiving All-Academic recognition in basketball. Taylor Peebles, Carly Copeland, Grace Holcombe, Karen Cawthon, Zoie Bailey, Kelcie Contreras, Gabi Corder, Kasey Lopez and Hannah Abuhatab were all recognized as All-Academic in District 18-3A.
In addition, Gabi Corder was selected as second team All-District. Taylor Peebles, Carly Copeland, Zoie Bailey, and Grace Holcombe received Honorable Mention recognition.
Congratulations to all these young ladies on their accomplishments!
First, I want to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation as we have dealt with inclement weather this week. We will always keep the safety of our students, staff, and parents as our first priority. I hope that this will be the final round of winter weather this school year.
Each school district is required to have two bad weather days in their school calendars. These days are holidays unless the district misses school for weather or other unforeseen event (we have also had to miss school in the past for no electricity and for no water). If a district has to miss a day or two, these bad weather days become regular school days. For the 14-15 school year, April 3 and June 5 were designated as bad weather days. These days will now be instructional days.
If you have any questions regarding our bad weather days, please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
Just made the decision to cancel school for today. Sleet is falling in Eustace and it’s not expected to let up until this afternoon. Please continue to monitor the district’s Celly account and Twitter account for the latest updates.
The FFA Chili Supper and Auction was a huge success!. There were 24 entries in the chili cook off. I believe that was the most ever entered. After tasting all 24, I can attest that all of them were good! The auction was a tremendous success. I do not have exact numbers at this time, but over $30,000 was raised for the FFA program.
A special thank you to Danny Davis and all of the FFA Booster Club Officers for all they do for our FFA program. Another thank you to all the supporters that came out Saturday to enjoy good chili and a great auction. Finally, a special thank you to our Ag teachers, Theresa Tindel & Steve Stegall, and the Ag students for all their hard work and dedication.

Last night, the senior boys basketball players and senior boys cross country runners were recognized. Chad Tindel and Hudson Mahaffey were honored as senior basketball players. Preston Shwartz, Mark Zimmerer and Hunter Norris were honored as senior cross country runners. Videos of the recognitions will be uploaded to the Eustace ISD YouTube page later today. Below is a picture of Chad and Hudson (I do not have pictures of the cross country runners, yet). As the legislative session continues, there are more and more bills that have been filed related to education. Some of these bills deal with issues such as testing and accountability. Other bills deal with areas such as school finance and school taxes. Right now, there are too many bills to list in a post such as this. It is even difficult at this point to pick out the most important bills. The Texas Association of School Administrators has provided a list of more than 300 bills that are currently being followed. A PDF file is attached to this post that contains a list of these bills. For most bills, a brief summary is provided. In order to get the document to upload, I had to break it down into four parts. Sorry for the inconvenience.
