Wow! What a great Friday for our Bulldogs! To start things off, our cross country teams competed in a Friday meet at Hallsville. The varsity girls placed 1st in their division and I believe we had another team actually place 4th in that division. The varsity boys placed 4th in open division.
Friday afternoon, the volleyball teams opened district play with a clean sweep of Troup. The varsity girls won 3-0, the JV A team won 2-0, and the JV B team won 2-1.
The day concluded with a huge crowd watching the Bulldogs take on the team from Mabank. The Bulldogs prevailed in a good, hard fought football game 20-17. The Bulldogs improved their record to 2-1 on the year. The great crowd also got to see the Varsity Cheerleaders perform throughout the game and got to see and hear the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band.
I want to give special recognition to all the people that came out and supported the Bulldogs in the gym and at the football game. You made the difference! It was so loud at times that neither the PA system nor the band could be heard!
The weekend concluded with our Middle School volleyball team’s both earning second place finishes in the tournament that was held in Eustace!
Congratulations to everyone involved for a great Friday and a great Saturday!
