What a great homecoming weekend! Things got started with the bonfire on Thursday. That was followed with a great district-wide pep rally Friday morning. (Videos of both events are on our YouTube channel.) Friday afternoon had our Lady Bulldogs facing off against Frankston in a district volleyball match. The varsity girls totally dominated the match and won 3-0. The JV team also defeated Frankston 2-0. The win sets up a huge showdown against Arp this Tuesday. Both Eustace and Arp will come into the match undefeated in district play. The winner of Tuesday’s match will own sole possession of first place. I encourage everyone to come out and support the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday. The first JV game will start at 5:00. All three games will be played in the Kirk Gym.
Friday evening, fans were treated to an exciting come from behind victory by the Bulldogs in their game against Mildred, 42-32. The win pushes the Bulldog’s record to 3-2 on the year. The game was the last non-district game of the season. The Bulldogs have this week off before hosting Elkhart in the first district game on October 9.
In addition to a great football game, the crowd was treated to a great performance by the Mighty Bulldog Marching Band. The band performed their complete contest show for the first time this year and did an awesome job! The Bulldog Band is getting ready for marching competition on October 14. More details on the exact time will be provided later. A video of this performance will be posted to the districts YouTube channel later this morning.
The crowd was also treated to another great performance by the varsity cheerleaders! This group gets better every week. The cheerleaders to an awesome job in supporting the Bulldogs!
Friday night also featured the crowning of the 2015 Homecoming Queen. The senior nominees were: Whitney Boerner, Chloe Moore, Jaci Warner, Gabi Corder, and Keairra Hargest. The 2015 Homecoming Queen for Eustace High School was Keairra Hargest. Congratulations to Keairra and all the nominees! A video of the ceremony will be available later this morning on the district’s YouTube channel.
Finally, our cross country teams competed at Ennis Saturday morning. The varsity boys dominated the 5A/6A division scoring only 45 points. The varsity girls were meet runner up in the 4A and under division. The JV boys were also meet runner up in the 5A/6A division and the JV Girls were meet champions in the 4A and under division.
