Welcome to February 2016! Congratulations to the High School basketball teams on a clean sweep against Troup last Friday. All four teams were victorious! Also, both the boys and girls power lifting teams competed at the Malakoff meet on Saturday. The girls team won the meet and the boys team came in 2nd!!
Today is the day that we find out our new football and basketball districts for the next two years. As soon as we know something, I will put it out on the district’s Twitter account.
I want to give a special recognition to Dr. Mack Saxon. Dr. Saxon retired from his position as special services director. His last day was Friday. Dr. Saxon oversaw our special education department, our dyslexia program, and our 504 program. He had been with EISD since we started running our own special education program. Prior to that, he had also worked with EISD as the director of the Henderson County Shared Services. In all, Dr. Saxon has put in 35 years of service in education. Dr. Saxon will continue to work with the district as a part time diagnostician. I want to thank Dr. Saxon for everything that he has done for the children of EISD. Below is a picture of Dr. Saxon and his wife, Tina, at his reception last Friday.
