National Honor Society Banquet

Last night, EHS hosted its annual National Honor Society Banquet. In order to qualify for National Honor Society, a student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior, maintain an 85 cumulative average, and demonstrate their commitment to Service, Character, and Leadership.

Following dinner, the 2015-2016 officers each read a passage describing a requirement for membership in NHS. The officers for this year are Brittney Williams, president; Kasey Lopez, Vice President; Abra Roberts, Secretary; and, Kristina Woodruff, Treasurer. (See pictures below)

One Act Play, Track, Baseball, and This Week

Congratulations to our one act play cast, crew, and directors on a great year of performances. At the Regional One Act Play Contest this past Friday, our OAP placed 3rd out of 6 plays. They missed second place by one point. The top two plays from the regional competition advance to state. Emma Lopez was named Honorable Mention All Star Cast, Zachary Martin was named to the All Star Cast, and Ben Warren was named Best Actor! Congratulations to all the cast and crew for all your hard work and dedication. A special thank you to the directors of our one act play: Tammy Beaty and Tiffany Miley.

At the Area Track Meet held this past Thursday in West Rusk, both the boys and girls team finished second overall. There were many outstanding team and individual performances. The Eustace ISD Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting last night. The meeting started at 7:00 PM and was held in the High School library. The following items were discussed:

Board Meeting Tonight 

The Eustace ISD Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting tonight. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM and be held in the High School library.

The Board will recognize the powerlifting teams for their accomplishments this year.

Great Night for Track

The JV girls, JV boys, and varsity girls all won the district championship at last night’s meet. The varsity boys team finished in 2nd place in the team standings.

The JV girls ran away with their division, scoring 221 points. The second place team was over 100 points behind! The JV boys dominated their division and scored 209 points.

The varsity girls pulled away during the evening and won their division by 57 points, The varsity girls scored a total of 178.5 points.

The varsity boys made a furious comeback attempt during the last few events. The Bulldogs finished 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in the 1600m run and totally dominated the 4 x 400m relay. The Bulldogs fell 20 points short of 1st place.

We have several athletes moving on to the Area Meet. The Area Meet will be held next Thursday in West Rusk. Below are the Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs that will be advancing on to the Area Meet:

This Week

There are lots of activities and events happening this week. This is also the last week of the 5th 6 weeks. Next Monday will be the start of the final 6 weeks of the 2015-2016 school year.

Both the Middle School and the Primary are hosting Book Fairs throughout this week. This week is also National Library Week. Everyone is invited to come up and visit both Book Fairs.

We will have two meetings this week for 8th grade students and their parents. These meetings will discuss the different options available to students at the High School. We will provide a light meal prior to each of the meetings. The first meeting will be in the evening on Tuesday. The second meeting will be in the morning on Thursday. The same information will be provided at both meetings. We encourage all 8th grade parents to plan to attend one of the meetings.

Dear Parents and Students,

The following is the schedule for the UIL Region III One Act Play Contest in Brenham Texas at Blinn College.

Region III- AAA  U.I.L. One Act Play Contest

Eustace is scheduled for rehearsal at 9:00 a.m. 


Awards will follow shortly after the judge’s evaluations and tabulation. Parents, family and friends are welcome to attend. Students SHOULD be available to leave campus to return to Eustace at approximately 9:30 p.m. We SHOULD arrive in Eustace at approximately 1:00 a.m. Students are asked to ride back on the bus with their cast and crew unless a parent signs them out. Please understand they are expected to meet at the school to unload with the cast and crew as assigned whether riding the bus home or with a parent. ALL students MUST be present for the entire process.

Eustace High School Advanced to Regionals at the AREA One Act Play Contest held at Midway High School in Waco, Texas yesterday. Three of six schools advance from the AREA contest to Regionals. Academy High School and Malakoff High School will be advancing along with Eustace to Blinn College in Brenham, Texas on April 22, 2016. Only two of the six schools that compete at Regionals will advance to the State Contest.
