New Communication Service

For the past several years, EISD has used Celly to communicate with parents, staff, and students through text messages. While this was a cost effective alternative for the district, recent changes in Celly have rendered this service less effective in providing up to date communications. As a result, EISD has partnered with Skylert to provide communication services to students, parents, and staff.

Skylert will provide much more flexibility than Celly. In emergency situations, Skylert will allow the district to communicate via phone message, email, and text alerts. In addition, campuses will be able to provide timely updates through Skylert as well as alerting parents when their child misses school.

In order for Skylert to be as effective and efficient as possible, everyone with a Family Access account needs to log into their account and click the tab labeled “Skylert.” Please carefully examine all the contact information and ensure that the information is up to date. Please make sure that you save any changes that you made.

In order to receive text alerts through Skylert, you must actively allow texts to be sent to your cell phone. You may do this by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587. You will receive a confirmation that you have successfully registered to receive SchoolMessenger notifications.

A flier will be going home next Tuesday that also provides instructions on how to take full advantage of the this new service. The most important thing that you can do is to make sure that your information is updated whenever there is a change. The second most important thing that you can do is to join the text alerts by following the instructions above.

We are excited about using Skylert to help improve communications from the schools and district. If you have any questions, please let me know by contacting me at cholcombe@eustaceisd.net.
