This Week

First, an update on how things are going at the school. We have plenty of bottled water for students and staff. I just received a call from the mayor and the boil water notification has been lifted.

Also, I want to thank Brother Paul and the First Baptist Church for allowing the immense amount of donations to be stored in their gym area. If anyone has any needs (food, clothing, water, etc.) please go by the Baptist Church.

I want to also thank all the people that have donated supplies and that have helped with dealing with those supplies. People literally came from all over the state to help.

Finally, a thank you to all the people that have helped with those homes that were impacted by the storms. I know that there were dozens of people helping those families.

The National Honor Society Banquet that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed.

This is Teacher Appreciation Week.

Throughout this week the Primary School will be conducting end of year Guided Reading assessments. Also, end of course tests at the High School and Middle School will be taken this week.

There will be playoff baseball games this Friday and Saturday against Scurry. Friday’s game will be in Scurry and start at 6:00. Saturday’s games will be played in Eustace. Game 2 will start at 1:00. If necessary, game 3 will start after the conclusion of game 2.

Congratulations to Chanda Westbrook on qualifying for the State Track meet in the 3200m run and the 1600m run!!

The FFA Banquet will the this Friday in the High School cafeteria. The banquet will start at 6:30.

I hope everyone has a great week!

New Student Report Cards from TEA

Each year, the Texas Education Agency(TEA) provides a report card on how students have performed on the STAAR exams. These report cards contain a wealth of information for parents and teachers to use in determining how students are doing on grade level materials. However, some parts of the report cards were confusing and difficult to understand.

TEA has redesigned the look of the student report cards. These new report cards will be issued this summer. TEA has produced a video that describes the changes and other features of the new report card. Below is a link to that video. I encourage all parents and guardians to take a few minutes and review this video.
