This Week

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! This may be a four day week, but there are lots of events and activities throughout the week.

Congratulations to all three volleyball teams on posting wins against Palestine on Friday. The varsity won their match 3-1. Today, volleyball travels to Mabank. The first game will start at 4:30.

Congratulations to the varsity football team on their 29-14 win against Lone Oak! The Bulldogs are 1-0 on the year and travel to Winona this Friday.

Welcome Back and This Week

I want to welcome everyone to the 2019-2020 school year! While this is our first full week of the year, we have already had many activities and events. Just this past weekend, we had our Lady Bulldogs win the Silver bracket at the Athens Volleyball Tournament. We also had our boys cross country team place 2nd in the 5A/6A division at the Commerce Cross Country Meet!

For the first time since the 2006-2007 school year, our enrollment is over 1,600. We are currently at an enrollment of 1,610 students.

Today, Eustace High School will host their Meet the Teacher night in the foyer of the Kirk Gym starting at 6:00 PM.  The annual Bulldog Bash will follow at 6:30  in the Kirk Gym. After the conclusion of the Bulldog Bash, everyone is invited to attend the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new High School. The ceremony will take place on the visitors side parking area of Bulldog Stadium.

A reminder that Monday, September 2 is our Labor Day holiday. Classes will resume at regular times on Tuesday, September 3.

Middle School Awards Night, Cotton Walker Recognition, and This Week

Last Thursday, the Middle School and High School held their annual awards night. Below are some pictures from both:

After the High School awards, a special recognition took place for retiring board member Cotton Walker. Mr. Walker has served on the school board for a total of 21 years. He has been instrumental in many of the improvements that have happened during that time.

Top 10 Banquet

On Tuesday, EHS hosted its annual Top 10 Banquet. The banquet honors the top 10 seniors in this years graduating class. The seniors get to pick a teacher to honor as well. The student writes a letter to their teacher and gets to read it to them. The teachers receive a copy of the letter along with a plaque.  Here is the list of seniors from number 10 to number 1 and the teacher they chose to honor:

National Honor Society Banquet

Last night, Eustace High School hosted its annual National Honor Society Banquet. The banquet was held at the First Baptist Church. Danny’s BBQ provided a catered meal. I would like to thank everyone that came out to honor our students. Pictures of the event are below.

FFA Banquet and This Week

Last Friday,  the Eustace FFA hosted its annual banquet in the High School cafeteria. Along with numerous awards and recognitions, those in attendance were also treated to a BBQ dinner catered by Danny’s BBQ. At the end of this post, are various pictures from the banquet.

Athletic Banquet

This past Saturday, the Athletic Booster Club hosted the annual Athletic Banquet at the First Baptist Church. The evening featured a catered meal followed by the awards presentation.

I would like to thank the Booster Club officers and members for all their work in preparing for this banquet. The Booster Club literally spent hours decorating and getting the Fellowship Hall ready to host almost 400 people. The 2019 Booster Club Officers include:

Employee Banquet

Last night, EISD hosted its annual Employee Banquet. The banquet was held at the First Baptist Church in Eustace. Following a meal catered by Danny’s BBQ, employees were recognized for their years of service. Employees that were recognized received a service pin and a $10.00 gift certificate from Applebee’s in Canton.

Softball, Regional Track, and This Week

For the first time since 2013, the Lady Bulldogs advanced to the state softball playoffs. The Lady Bulldogs played Grandview in the bi-district round of the playoffs last Thursday in Cleburne. While the Lady Bulldogs lost a hard fought game, 12-3, they have set the stage for more successes in the coming years. Congratulations to all the coaches and players on a great year!

Congratulations to Miranda Fontenot on qualifying for the state track meet in discus! Miranda won the regional meet with a throw of 131′ 10″. Miranda also set a new school record with that throw! The state meet will be held in Austin on May 10-11.
