Below are the funding amounts based on our attendance through the end of the last six weeks:
Earned Budgeted Difference
|Total Tier I||$6,657,409||$6,838,986||-$181,577|
|Additional State Aid||$1,527,435||$1,561,080||-$33,645|
|HB 1 (80th Session)||$47,713||$49,028||-$1,315|
|High School Allotment||$116,764||$115,693||$1,071|
A few notes:
First, as we have seen all year, our enrollment is so important to our funding. We consistently have good attendance at all campuses. That is really never an issue. However, when our total number of students stays at or below the number that was used to build our budget, it makes it almost impossible to reach the budgeted amounts.
Second, even though we came up short compared to the budget, adjustments were made throughout the school year that allowed us to close the gap between what was budgeted and what was earned.
Third, we know that there is a mistake in the property value number used in this year’s funding calculations. This mistake is being appealed to the comptrollers office and when the number is corrected, we should end up completely eliminating the deficit between the budget and the earned figures.
Finally, if you have any questions about any of these numbers, please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
