Slime Kids is a unique way to encourage kids to read. Slime Kids is a site created by Andy Fine, a parent and teacher, offering an extensive collection of book trailers. The site is well organized and easy to navigate through. Along with the book trailers, Slime Kids also offers literacy based sites such as author webpages and book review websites. Slime Kids not only offers literacy resources but also games focusing on typing skills, spelling, vocabulary and grammar.
Mr. Fine’s intent with Slime Kids is to help younger students find and access websites designed for kids. Slime Kids encourages students to judge website content and determine what is most useful to them and their resource needs.
Slime Kids is a pretty cool site. I would recommend giving it a try.
