One of the great additions to Google Classroom this school year has been the “Share to Google Classroom” button. It is popping up in technology tools that teachers already know, use, and love! Clicking this magic button automatically adds resources right into your existing Google Classrooms with no muss and no fuss
One great resource site that is totally integrated into Google Classroom is OpenEd.
Sign up using your Texas school so you see the TEKS ! Though it is fully aligned with Common Core standards, if you sign in as as Texas school, the Reading and Math TEKS will also be included in your list of standards to choose from.
Start searching through their great resources.
There are two ways to work between Google Classroom and OpenEd:
Mrs. GoDair’s Pre-AP English class is currently reading To Kill A Mockingbird. As part of their studies, each person has to dress as a character from the book. These “characters” then take part in a meal. Each character must bring a dish for the meal. Pictures of the characters at the meal are posted below:
Thanks to Coach Josh Sypert for providing the following information on the state cross country meet:
The Eustace Cross Country teams competed at the State Championships in Round Rock, TX on November 7, 2015. The race took place in some historic conditions, 40 degree temperature and several inches of rain left the course slippery and muddy. This is what Cross Country is all about, rain or shine, we still race.
The Boys Team was able to capture a podium spot for the 4th year in a row. They placed 3rd as a team in the class 3A division. They were lead by Junior Ericsen Gudjohnsen who earned All-State honors with his 10th place finish and time of 17:00. Next was Junior Zane Arambula who placed 30th and ran a 17:38, Juniors Andrew Page and Gabe Purselley placed 49th and 50th and ran a 17:59 and 18:01, Senior Brandon Richardson placed 61st and ran a 18:16, Freshman Nicolas Westbrook placed 103rd and ran a 19:03, and Sophomore Ben Warren placed 110th and ran a 19:08.
The Girls Team also earned a podium spot at the awards ceremony. They placed 3rd as a team in a very close race between the top 4 teams represented there. They were lead by Junior Chanda Westbrook who placed 5th overall and ran a 12:21, this finish earned her All-State Honors as well. Next was Junior Skye Burns who placed 25th and ran a 12:58, Senior Chloe Moore placed 35th and ran a 13:10, Junior Cara Henson placed 66th and ran a 13:32, Junior Molly McAtee placed 71st and ran a 13:35, Junior Shelby White placed 94th and ran a 14:00, and Freshman Reece Thorne placed 108th and ran a 14:10.
Last Friday, the seniors that were involved in football, volleyball, cheerleading, and band were recognized prior to the start of the football game. A video of the ceremony will be posted to the district’s YouTube page later today. I want to thank all the seniors for their hard work, dedication, and leadership.
The Eustace Bulldogs varsity football team showed what Pride, Poise, Discipline, and Class was all about Friday night. Down going into the second half, the Bulldogs never gave up and fought back to have a chance to win the game. Although they fell a little short on the scoreboard, they did not in determination and effort. They played with Bulldog Pride!
To say that conditions were absolutely miserable in Round Rock this past Saturday would be a tremendous understatement. The temperature was in the mid-fifties, it was raining, and the wind was blowing; however, in cross country, these conditions are just part of the sport. Both our boys and girls teams did an outstanding job in these conditions. Both teams placed 3rd overall in the state!! Our girls were led by Chanda Westbrook, who finished 5th overall. Skye Burns was 25th overall. Skye was followed by Chloe Moore, Cara Henson, Molly McAtee, Shelby White, and Reece Thorn. The Lady Bulldogs finished the state meet with an overall score of 105. Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs – 3rd place in Conference 3A!!
The boys also finished as the 3rd best team in Conference 3A. The boys were led by Ericssen Gudjohnsen who finished 10th overall. Zane Arambula was the next Bulldog across the finish line followed by Andrew Page, Gabe Purselley, Brandon Richardson, Nick Westbrook, and Ben Warren. The boys finished with an overall score of 125.
There are some pictures posted at the end of this entry of our girls and boys receiving their medals. In addition, there will be videos posted of the start of each race and the awards ceremony later today.
One additional note: Eustace was the only team in Conference 3A that had the boys and girls team finish in the top 3 in the state! Bulldog Proud!!
I want to congratulate each of our runners for another great cross country season. A special thank you to all the parents for all the time and effort you took to make sure your son or daughter got to school early for practice and for all the early Saturday mornings you had throughout the season. A special thank you to all the fans that braved the conditions in Round Rock to come out and support the Bulldogs! Finally, a huge thank you to Coach Josh Sypert and Coach Kenneth Henderson for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year to make our cross country program the best it can be!
Today is the start of the 3rd 6 Weeks. Because of our Thanksgiving Holidays, this 6 weeks is really only 5 six weeks. It will go by very fast!

The Eustace Bulldogs will play their final game of the season tonight against Malakoff. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Bulldog Stadium. Before the game, seniors from volleyball, band, cheerleading, and football will be introduced. Senior cross country members are usually introduced on Senior Night as well; however, our senior cross country members will be in Round Rock preparing for the state cross country meet on Saturday.
At the state meet, the 3A girls are scheduled to run at 8:30. The boys will follow at 9:00. If you can’t make it to Round Rock for the state meet, you can keep up with the results by following @EustaceISD on Twitter.
